Holiday time!

Holiday update! I have a few new items and special events going on this season.

This new ornament set features a group of adorable woodland creatures and can be purchased in my Etsy shop here.

Or you could have a cheery elf band play you a tune, available here.

This tote bag is hand printed from a linoleum block I cut. Get it here!

From now through Monday (12/2/13) I am offering free shipping on all items in my shop! Use coupon code FREESHIPPING2013 at checkout.

I will also have booths at a couple of local events, one of them is the Sugarplum Shindig in Overton Square on Friday, December 6. Facebook event page here.
On the following Sunday I'll be at the Brooks Museum Holiday Artist Market. Details here.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Steamroller Print

A finished print hanging on my wall.
I recently finished a project I was doing with Five In One which involved cutting a 4x8' wood block and making prints of it on fabric, using a steamroller as a press.

Woodcut in progress
This was my first time doing a woodcut and I loved the process!

There were something like 14 different blocks to print (many of them having ten prints each), we were there all weekend late into the night trying to get them done. But we did it!

The whole endeavor took I don't even know how many exhausting hours, but it was worth it. All in all, it was a really cool, really fun project and I hope I get to do it again next year! To Alice and Michael- thanks, guys!

See more great pictures over at the Five In One Tumblr.

Dreamnight at the Zoo

I recently did this illustration which was used in promotional materials for "Dreamnight" at the Memphis Zoo. The event is a special night at the zoo for families of kids at St. Jude and Le Bonheur children's hospitals. (graphic design by Laura Horn)

Print available at my shop
Spring is finally here!

I'm going to be selling my wares at a couple of events coming up. One is the second MEMfix event, highlighting the neighborhood around Highland and Walker on April 13.

The other is the spring Broad Avenue Art Walk on April 19.

Both ought to be a lot of fun, so if you are in the area stop by and say hi!

An update finally! I'll try to be better about not leaving months of silence between my posts in the future. Anyway, here's what I've been up to since November. The image above is a fun Christmas gift commission. The size was around 8.5x11". (In case I haven't mentioned it enough, I enjoy personal commissions, so don't be shy about dropping me a line.)

"Predator and Prey" for a show at local gallery Allie Cat Arts Saturday, Feb. 2. The painting is done on a wood cut-out of a fish, the size is around 15 x 8.5".

Several recent paintings now available as mounted prints in my shop!

Experiment using acrylic and colored pencil. Print of this one available in my shop.

I've also been adding a selection of non-wood art unmounted prints in my shop, check 'em out!

Christmas gift for a friend who likes mermaids, jellyfish, and all things ocean-related.

This friend has a thing for gnomes.
